With the sportive season coming to rather wet close, there's no better time to start planning your 2013 rides. This is also the time of year when you are most likely to pick up some fantastic deals, Cyclofanatics are offering the chance to enter two events at the same time and save some money.

They are offering riders the opportunity to register for the New Forest Rattler and Meon Valley Riser for just £40 until 21st December, the price after this point is £25 per event.

The Meon Valley Riser

The 2013 Meon Valley Riser is set to take place on Sunday 7th April starting in Fareham. The Riser takes in some of the famous climbs in the Meon Valley including Old Winchester Hill, Stoner Hill and Harvesting Lane which takes you to the highest point in Hampshire and provides stunning panoramas across the Solent towards the Isle of Wight.

The Riser is fast becoming a firm favourite in many people's calendar and you will find no better early season challenge than this. Jonathan Cook, Cyclosport.org writer and 2012 Riser rider: "What I really liked about this event is that the route had been meticulously picked to incorporate in the main good and newly resurfaced roads and the signage was excellent throughout. The organisers were friendly and it was nice to have breakfast and lunch included as part of your entry."

The 2013 New Forest Rattler will return to Moyles Court in the New Forest for its 5th edition in 2013 and this event just keeps on getting better and better. The Rattler village was introduced for the 2012 event, offering riders the opportunity to camp at the event HQ. This proved to be a very popular option and, as a result, Cyclofanatic Events will be increasing the camping space for 2013. The Rattler is well-known for its friendly atmosphere and accessibility to riders of all abilities - making it a perfect event for sportive first-timers.

The fast rolling roads of the New Forest also make it an ideal event for more experienced riders looking to enjoy some fast cycling.

What Martin Clapham, a 2012 New Forest Rattler rider said about the ride: "Not only was the course a joy to ride, but everyone I encountered were both friendly, polite and extremely professional. Once again thank you for a lovely day and I lookforward to seeing you all again next year."
