The annual HOY 100 sportive is set to return this year to a brand new venue, Arley Hall in Cheshire and is set to include some of Sir Chris Hoy's own training roads. Two new century routes will feature in this year's event taking place on Sunday 8th May.  

The Long Route, 100 miles in length, covers rolling terrain skirting the edge of the Peak District.  In all this challenge ride takes in 4,850ft of elevation.  The shorter of the two routes covers 100km.  This route is designed as a perfect introduction to sportive riding, taking in a total of 1,565ft of elevation. 

Rio 2016 will be the first games since the 2000 Games in Sydney that won't be featuring Britain's most decorated Olympian.  Sir Chris however, still takes his riding seriously and hasn't exactly been sitting back; "I'm still on my bike most days and have been training for the HOY 100 for a number of months now.  This is a brand new course which has been designed to take in a few of my more challenging local roads - something that is especially exciting for me.  The climb through Macclesfield Forrest in particular is an absolute brute, but it rewards at the top with some spectacular views over the Peak District."

As in previous years, Sir Chris will be joining participants on the ride, tackling the longer of the two routes.

Entry to the events costs £35 which includes a £5 donation to The Scottish Association for Mental Health. All finishers will receive an SiS bundle along with a HOY 100 finishers medal and cotton cap.

Places to the event are limited and early entry is encouraged to avoid disappointment.
