Always Aim High Events have announced that entries for their flagship spring sportive - the Gran Fondo Conwy - have now opened for 2016. The event, which will take place on Sunday 17 April next year, is expected to attract over 1,000 participants.

Entrants who register for the event before Friday 26 June will receive a 10% discount. Furthermore if you sign up in the AAH Store in Llangefni, Anglesey you will receive an additional 10% discount. This means that local residents can easily buy a Mawr entry (100+ mile) for £28.79.

The Gran Fondo Conwy is a fully supported sportive set in the heart of beautiful North Wales. Setting off from Conwy Castle, the three Gran Fondo routes travel around some of the best climbs, views and roads that the counties of Conwy and Denbighshire have to offer.

Rob Samuel, Events manager at Always Aim High Events urges anyone who is thinking of entering to do so soon: "The Gran Fondo Conwy is one of the best events on the sportive calendar. The results of the 2015 customer evaluation questionnaire showed that 96% of entrants from last years event would recommend the sportive to a friend or family member and the sportive received an average score of 9.4 out of 10."

Always Aim High Events are aiming to make the 2016 Gran Fondo Conwy the biggest and best edition to date. As a result, as well as introducing an early bird offer, they will be improving both their Mawr (100+ mile) and Canol (70+ mile) routes. 

Samuels explains the decision: "The Gran Fondo Conwy has always been a tough route, however, based on customer feedback we have made the decision to adjust the routes to make them more appropriate for the time of the year."

He continued: "It's an early season sportive so we are working on amending the final 10 miles of the routes to give riders a faster finish. We will announce the final routes in the next few weeks so stay tuned for that."
