Macmillan Cycletta Bedfordshire organisers have today revealed three routes for this year's women-only cycling event that will set off from the magnificent Woburn Abbey on 20 June.

The routes, which comprise of 20km, 40km and 70km distances, will see hundreds of ladies take to the Bedfordshire countryside on two wheels, passing through towns and villages such as Toddington, Woburn, Tingrith and Eversholt.

It's a relatively flat route that takes in historical sights such as Toddington Manor, home to Damien Hirst's personal art collection and the iconic Paris House gate in Woburn. Cyclists will then pass through Milton Bryan, home to a spoof German radio station during world war two that fooled the enemy into early surrender and head towards the delightful village of Eversholt which covets its very own mention in the Doomsday book.

The event starts and finishes in the spectacular grounds of Womburn Abbey, home to the Duke & Duchess of Bedford and one of the finest private art collections in the world, boasting paintings by Van Dyck, Canaletto, Rembrandt and Gainsborough.

For those looking to test themselves, the Challenge Route of 70km delivers a total elevation gain of 627m. Those riding the shorter routes can expect elevation gains of 364m for the 40km Classic Route and 215m for the Novice Route of 20km.

This is the fourth year that Macmillan Cycletta has returned to Bedfordshire and this year organisers expect the event to be more popular than ever before.

Macmillan Cycletta Bedsforshire is open to women of all ages and abilities, and for those looking to make a family day of it, younger cycling enthusiasts can take part in a Scootathlon on the same day. The Scootathlon is a mini triathlon for children between the ages of 4 and 8 where they scoot, bike and run.
