Evans Cycles RIDE IT Series Expands with Sportive Cross Events

Evans Cycles' RIDE IT series has enjoyed another buoyant year in 2014 with over 20,000 participants completing some 40,000 miles worth of marked road and trails. Brand new for the Autumn/Winter series is a new event format: Sportive Cross.
Simply classified as a 'mixed terrain route', the Sportive Cross format combines road and off-road riding for a challenging, yet different, day out in the saddle. The rides are ideally suited to cyclocross bikes, but can just as easily be enjoyed on a mountain bike. The marked routes will take in a variety of riding surfaces including tarmac, gravel and dirt tracks.
As with all Evans' RIDE IT events entry starts at just £7.50 (with free rides for kids) and feature fully way-marked routes, mechanical support, electronic chip timing, professional event photography and well-stocked High5 sponsored feed stations on every route. Everyone signing up 8 weeks or more in advance gets a free box of High5 goodies worth £10. On the day riders are able to 'test drive' a wide range of Garmin GPS units and Louis Garneau clothing, with exclusive offers for anyone buying at the event.
Evans Cycles Event Manager, Dean Stacey commented: "We are really excited about the launch of our new Sportive Cross series. There has been much talk about the gravel riding scene in America, and we wanted to bring it across the water with a UK flavour. There is something for riders of all ages and ability, and the events will run alongside our already popular Ride It events. We can't wait to get started!"
