With all eyes on Yorkshire in the lead up to the 2019 Road World Championships, Yorkshire's leading Cycling Event Company are gearing up for their biggest year yet. 4,000 cyclists nationwide are now pre-registered for only 1,000 places in their annual flagship Harrogate-based event, Struggle Dales, which opens for entries on Friday 02 November at midday.
Managing Director of Struggle Events Matt Mannakee said: "There is already a huge buzz about the World Championships next year and we have seen an increase in people wanting to ride the Struggle for a taste of what the Yorkshire Dales has to offer."
Now in its fourth edition, Struggle Dales comprises a challenging 108 miles cycling event which starts and finishes in Harrogate on Sunday 26th May 2019. It includes over 9,430ft of climbing and tackles iconic cycling climbs such as Greenhow Hill and Park Rash. This event has gained cult status due to its beautiful but brutal route and attracts aspirational cyclists from across the UK and Europe.
With Struggle Events based in Harrogate, the team are extremely excited the town will be the central hub for the Cycling World Road Championship next year. Eight days of professional racing will attract the best riders in the world. Millions of enthusiastic cycling fans will be vying for a place on the sidelines of the biggest race in the calendar to watch the pros battle it out for the coveted Rainbow Jersey. Struggle Events has already launched guided rides and corporate days, so cyclists from the UK and internationally can challenge themselves against the route the professionals will tackle in September 2019.
Struggle Events has been dubbed the Tough Mudder of the UK cycling industry. The Struggle Dales event offers 1000 places for this sell-out event and these will go live to pre-registered riders at 12 Noon on Friday 2nd November 2018 with the event going live to the general public 24hrs later.
