The 2014 Wiggle Etape Cymru will take place on Sunday 14th September 2014. Last year's route took in 88 miles of Wrexham and Denbighshire, North Wales. Not only does the event stand out for being the UK's toughest closed road sportive, it also boasts some of the most stunning scenery of any sportive in the UK.

To celebrate the return of the Wiggle Etape Cymru in 2014, and the continuing sponsorship from title partner Wiggle, event organiser Human Race is offering a special deal:

Enter the Wiggle Etape Cymru before the 17th of August - and type 'DRAGON' in the 'feel free to type away' box on the entry form - to secure your place on the exclusive 'priority' list for the 2015 Wiggle Dragon Ride to make sure you are the first to hear when entries open for this massively over-subscribed event.

The 2014 Wiggle Etape Cymru route takes in all three of the infamous climbs that made last year's Etape such a challenge; the Horseshoe Pass, The Shelf and the World's End climb.

This year, the event is set to more than live up to its strap line - 'the UK's toughest closed road sportive'. Be there to share in the majesty of the Welsh Hills; with many Tour de France like climbs; long, steep and stunning

In 2013, the Wiggle Etape Cymru provided an enormous boost to the local economy, with approximately £500,000 being spent with local businesses. 81% of entrants travelled to the event from outside of Wales, enjoying all that the region has to offer and 93% of riders said that the event had inspired them to one day return with family and friends.

Human Race aims to build on many of the successes from the 2013 event and the route -which will be revealed shortly- will be as hilly, technical and testing as always and will once more take place on closed roads, meaning that amateur cyclists can get that professional rider's experience.

The 2014 Wiggle Etape Cymru will start and finish at Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse, where there will be a full event village. The event village will feature Vita Coco, who will be giving out their naturally hydrating Coconut Water at the finish line; Wiggle will be retailing on site, so riders needing any last minute gear will be catered for; and PowerBar products will be available to sample at all of the feed stations along the route.

Participants will be encouraged to fundraise for the Official National Charity Partner, Macmillan Cancer Support. In 2013, the Wiggle Etape Cymru raised £25,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support and money from fundraisers is still coming in. The money raised will be used to help Macmillan support not only people affected by cancer, but everyone their cancer has an impact on, from partners, to children, to friends and carers.

Many riders will also be supporting Local Charity Partner, Nightingale House. The charity provides specialist palliative care services, completely free-of-charge, to patients and their families across a wide regional area stretching from: Wrexham, Flintshire and East Denbighshire to Barmouth and the border towns including Oswestry and Whitchurch.
