Over 6,000 competitors will descend on South Wales this weekend for the eleventh edition of the Wiggle Dragon Ride. The record field will be treated to stunning views and tough climbs across four different routes, which includes a women only Mamcillan Cycletta sportive, and the new 300km Dragon Devil distance. 

Taking place on Sunday 8 June and organised by Human Race, the Wiggle Dragon Ride is regarded by many as being one of the UK's most prestigious sportives. Old favourites, the Gran Fondo (223km) and Medio Fondo (153km) have sold out again this year, and the 500 places available for the new Dragon Devil (300km) route sold out in under an hour. 

Starting from the picturesque Margam Park in Port Talbot, all the courses wind their way around the hills of South Wales before finishing up at the same venue. The Gran Fondo, passing through the beautiful Brecon Beacons, takes in approximately 2,905m of climbing, and the Medio Fondo approximately 2,060m. 

The Dragon Devil distance looks set to test even the most hardened sportive rider, with an astonishing 3,437m of climbing. However, those lucky enough to have gained a spot will be rewarded with sensational views as they take on the signature climbs of Rhigos, Black Mountain and the Devil's Elbow. The undulating hills of South Wales make for some testing climbs and thrilling descents and all riders will be rewarded with some spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. 

The Wiggle Dragon Ride is part of the Human Race sportive series, and places are still available for the Wiggle Etape Cymru taking place in North Wales on 14 September.
