Autism Wessex New Forest Bike Ride (33 or 60 Miles)
- 13/03/2016 - New Forest
Thousands of cyclists have already signed up for the Tour of Wessex 2013, taking on the twists, turns and gradients of the South West's finest roads.
Riders Climbing The Cheddar Gorge
Thanks to the popularity of the new 2013 medium stages though, the organisers have extended the deadline to Friday 17th May at 12 noon to allow additional riders to experience one of the world's largest multi-stage sportive events.
Organiser Nick Bourne has also announced a number of developments designed to support riders even further during the Tour. "We've secured the support of the Brother UK Neutral Service vehicles and bikes, which are the very same used in British Cycling's Premier Calendar series. In addition will be the BMW motorbike wheel service, helping riders concentrate on enjoying their ride even if they suffer a mechanical."
The Finest Multi-day Sportive Around
While testing, each stage of the Tour sees riders enjoy stunning landscapes while tackling classic climbs like Cheddar Gorge and King Alfreds Tower. Sunday 26th will see them weave through the Lulworth Ranges and along the spectacular and rugged Jurassic Coast, with Stage 3's Porlock Toll Road climb up onto Exmoor really capturing the event. Built in 1840, this four and half mile climb remains one of the UK's most picturesque thanks to its stunning North Somerset coastal vistas.
It's not too late to enter the Tour of Wessex, with places still available on the medium & long single-day routes and the 3-day ride options. Prices start from £30 per person for the medium rides and £35pp for Standard distance rides. The 3-day ride option starts from £90pp (medium distance).
