After a fantastic first full year of events, cycling event organisers, Sportive HQ are changing the face of Sportives in the East Midlands region and growing rapidly.

Sportive HQ are producing events with all of the facilities you would expect from many of the larger events companies such as chip timing, qualified mechanics (at HQ, every feed station and on the move), Medi-Bikes medical support and feed stations close to your average Velo Cafe stacked with real food, tea , coffee and SIS bottle top ups.

But the best part is the price - less than £20 or £55 for the full series of three events.

The plentiful reviews on Cyclosport testify that riders are getting what they want: a very much back to basics day out on the bike with a great atmosphere and a professional approach. The 2015 series gained over 70 reviews across all the events with an average rating of 93%.

For 2016 Sportive HQ have teamed up with Roux Bikes, enabling them to now offer demo bikes for the events (pre booking required) so you don't even need to have a bike to ride the events.

Sportive HQ don't try to offer the hardest rides in the country, with the most elevation or the steepest climbs, instead they offer events that are accessible to even the most novice rider, whilst experienced riders can challenge themselves to achieve a personal best time on that 100 mile or 100km route. Riders can choose on the day whether to complete the 100 mile or 100km route.

Unlike many events, Sportive HQ allow all bike types so you are welcome to turn up on a hand-cycle, recumbent, tandem or even time trial bike. There is no restriction on this and adequate insurance is provided.
