The organisers of the ever-popular New Forest Rattler are offering some nice little additions for the 2012 event, which will roll out of Moyles Court School on Sunday 19 August and head out into the New Forest.
New Forest Offers Great Scenery
The New Forest is renowned as having some of the most picturesque scenery in the South. The Forest itself covers 570 square kilometres and attracts people to its quiet surroundings, this ride is special. At the request of previous Rattler participants, 2012 will see the introduction of the 'Rattler village' where riders and their families will have the opportunity to camp at the event Headquarters.
Set in the heart of the New Forest and within the stunning grounds of Moyles Court School, riders will get the opportunity to socialise and meet fellow riders before riding with them on the Sunday.Booking camping and accommodation in the New Forest during the summer can be quite tricky if you leave it late, so if you are travelling from far away then the camping option could prove to be very useful.
Moyles Court School Is The Event HQ
Claud the Butler has become a staple of any decent sportive, dishing up really good pre-ride coffee and food. A pasta bar is available to get the carbohydrate into you before your ride so you can get going feeling energized and ready for the Sunday ahead. A BBQ will be available, serving up the best in local New Forest produce. There will also be live music to keep everyone entertained, the perfect thing to accompany the Rattler Village feel. All the normal showers and toilets will also be available to use throughout the weekend. The organizer says there will be plenty more announcements over the coming weeks about what is on offer to participants, so keep an eye out.
According to Lee Reynolds of Cyclo-fanatic Events the demand for camping has been extremely high. He also said participants should take advantage of this chance to meet new like-minded people and spend a weekend away in the New Forest, here is the chance to do so. They are taking bookings now on the events website. In addition to the above, the event photographer; George Burgess and his team are offering a new photo service for 2012. Riders will be able to view their photos after completing the Rattler and take them away on the day.
