KwaZulu-Natal's premier cycle race, the Tsogo Sun Amashova Durban Classic is the oldest classical cycling race in South Africa, founded in 1986.
Last year, a total of more than 10.000 participants took the start in this big mass-participation event between the city of Pietermaritzburg, famous for their UCI World Championships and Worldcups in different cycling disciplines and the city of Durban with finish on the beautiful Suncoast on Durban's Golden Mile. Tsogo Sun Amashova Durban Classic will be a UWCT qualifier for the second year.
The start of the race will be given at 6.45h at the Pietermaritzburg city hall and all course will have fully road closures.
Licences
All cyclists who wish to take part in a bicycle event of over 20km in South Africa need to buy a Cycling South Africa license. It's more economical to buy a year license early season to have a maximum number of advantages for other events, similar to Amashova.
The prize of a license is R75. Some provinces ask for an additional fee up on the license.

If you only wish to take part in this event, you can best buy a one day license online for only R35.
The Tsogo Sun Amashova Durban Classic has a total amount of prize money of more than R100 000.
