This will be the first edition of the Gran Fondo Italia cycling series in Rio de Janeiro. Rio de Janeiro, the name alone sets people's fantasies alight. The city of sand, sea, and samba also boasts football and carnival, as well as being perhaps the most beautifully located metropolis in the world. Beaches stretch as far as the eye can see, the city bordered by tropical rain forest, mountains and bays spotted with islands. The famous Sugarloaf Mountain by the coast and the statue of Christ who watches and protects the city from his place on Corcovado. Rio is also home to an incredible cycling community that will make this event an experience that can't be missed.
