This end of season sportive brings together, spectacular rolling mountain scenery, with classic climbs, brilliant views and fast testing descents as it threads its way through the ex industrial landscape of the South Wales Valleys.
There are two routes a 65k and a longer 95k route. While the longer route may only be 95km long, there are a total of six major hills with almost 6000ft of climbing which include the epic climbs of the Bwlch, Rhigos and Maerdy but also many more hidden gems a waiting to challenge you.
To find out who the Kings and Queens of the mountains really are, this year the event will have 2 personal timed sections on the climbs of Penrhys and Graigwen.
"Lee from Sportrct said: We wanted to develop an event which was different from others on the market whilst showcasing some of the finest road climbs in Wales and at the same time inspiring local people to get on their bikes."
Reviews from 2013 event
"Fiendishly concentrated course with heaps of spectacular scenery. I found all of the staff and marshals spot on: friendly and encouraging to the last. I loved the #ShutUpLegs and #Stinking signs - made me laugh out loud as much as the descents. Well done to all who partook and organised - I will be up for the epic next year."
"A brillant ride for the experienced and novice cyclist."
