The HotChillee Sportive will have two routes, 115m (180km) and 66m (100km) taking in both the North and South Downs. The sportive kicks off from the bottom of the Olympic Road Race Hill 'Box Hill' in Dorking and will cover some of the best cycling terrain in the south east.

The event is a bike ride of 30 miles on the roads around Snowdon, starting at the Cwellyn Arms in Rhyd Ddu, from where the event is organised. Riding on either day, cyclists follow a picturesque route via Llanberis, Pen y Pass, Nant Gwynant and Beddgelert before returning to the Cwellyn Arms for a Completion Certificate and a bowl of home made soup. Ride either day - 3rd or 4th March.

After two years of wind, the organising team nervously watched the weather forecast as Race Day got nearer. Messages via e-mail, Facebook and Twitter where united in their plea: “Please organise a windless day.” And as dawn broke on Sunday morning, 13 March, not a breath of wind could be detected at the start or finish line. The day remained perfect, providing ideal riding conditions for all participants.

Using a 62 mile route partly based on the Rutland CiCLE Tour sportive route, and new 20 mile family route to Fineshade woods, Velo Club Rutland are running their first reliability ride. 2 Hour Mountain Bike Enduro Mass start on the motor cross circuit, then numerous laps to be covered in the 2 hour period, you will only complete the motor cross section on lap 1. Expect open fields, narrow trails, woodland areas and water passings, please expect this to be a tough course and terrain. At the cut off only FULL complete laps will be counted.
