HotChillee, the cycling events company behind The London-Paris, The Alpine Challenge and The Cape Rouleur is holding its second annual UK one-day sportive on 6th April, starting in Esher, Surrey. The ride is part of the training for The London-Paris in June and The Alpine Challenge in September but is open to everyone.

Your Chance To Try a HotChillee Event

The HotChillee Sportive challenges riders to take on the area of the 2012 Olympic Road Race and the North Downs including Coomb Bottom and White Down. There are three routes on offer of 82, 68 and 37 miles.

The HotChillee sportive offers everything a sportive rider wants from their day; a great and well signposted route, support vehicles, well-placed feed stations and top HQ hospitality, not to mention a great atmosphere and all in a safe and fun environment.The event starts from the bottom of the Olympic Road Race Hill, 'Box Hill' in Dorking, taking riders along some of the best cycling areas in the South East and on parts of the 2012 Olympic Road Race route.

The route takes riders away from the event centre through Cobham Park to take on the North Downs with some tough climbs over the Pilgrims Way until you descend near Pitch Hill, where the route is more rolling as it weaves over the Wey and Arun Canal to the turning point of Kirford. This flatter "lower weald" has pretty villages which frame the ride on the way back to the Downs. The climb up over White Down and Poleden Lacey leads back to Cobham Park, and then onward to the event centre where the reward of achievement as you complete this challenge awaits each rider.

Three Routes On Offer

The HQ is easy to get to and in close proximity to a mainline station and good road links to the rest of the south east. Like all HotChillee events there will be a great atmosphere, amazing camaraderie amongst fellow riders as well as good facilities including toilets/free parking/showers/refreshments and most importantly an amazing course.

The event includes, mechanical support, parking, full route marking, rider public liability insurance, electronic chip timing, bike wash facilities, web results, emergency support, on-site catering, fee event photography, The TriTouch sports therapy at the HQ and a sag wagon.
