As the Cycling season draws to a close, good Sportives are becoming harder and harder to find. If like us you don't want to lose your form over the winter, you'll be looking for a November ride that is challenging yet suitable for the Autumnal conditions.
We have the ride for you! The Essex Season Ender takes place on Sunday the 19th of November 2017, covering roads that can be thoroughly enjoyed at any time of year. We've worked hard to take this route through some beautiful countryside that can be enjoyed by all, at the same time minimising junctions and crossings so that all you fast people can get a real rhythm going.
The Perfect End of Season Sportive
Our event HQ is the prestigious Redbridge Cycling Centre, here the ride can make use of the newly built closed track. The raised location of the land in this part of Essex gives you a amazing panoramic view of the City of London while still being surrounded by the peace of the countryside.
The Essex Season Ender offers two stunning routes that head out North East from Redbridge Cycling Centre onto quiet rolling countryside roads. Both routes take in beautiful scenery that is extremely popular amongst local cyclists due to the variety of terrain on offer - both routes take on hills such as Hoe Lane, as well as offering flatter sections for those looking to get their average speed up.
2 Km Closed Road Timed Segment!
Redbridge Cycling Centre has a superb closed road track. We've hired in extra timing systems, so if the feeling takes you you'll to tell you exactly how fast you went around the magnificent 2 Kilometre road race circuit.
So don't miss out on this season's last chance to have a ride with friends and like minded people. Let's keep that summer form for as long as possible!
42 Miles:
This is a great route for the beginner or someone entering their first sportive. Anyone looking to get involved in long distance cycling and hasn't quite got the legs for the longer rides yet, this is for you. You'll follow those on the long route for the first 21 miles, then cutting off west and rejoining those on the long at the feed station at Moreton. Together you'll tackle Hoe Lane before a final 1km loop of the closed track at Redbridge Cycling Centre.
72 Miles:
The 72 mile route (+ 2km on closed track if you like!) will take you further out onto the quiet countryside roads of Essex towards picturesque villages such as Doddinghurst, Willingale and Good Easter before heading west towards High Roding. Enjoy a cup of complimentary tea or coffee at the first feed station. It then heads south towards Hatfield Heath before Epping and Toot Hill. For the finale all routes have to climb Hoe Lane at 6 miles to go before a final lap of the circuit. This stunning route with a few rewarding hills creates more of a challenge for those looking to feel the burn in their legs.
