Entries are closed for the Marlow Red Kite Ride on 1st September, and there will be no entries available on the day.
The 2013 event will follow the same format as last year, with great feed stations and a few small tweaks to the route. This year there will be a choice of 50, 80 and 100 mile routes in varied countryside through Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire, with both routes heading over the Chilterns and the longer routes heading into the Vale of Aylesbury. All routes include hills and flatter sections, and so are suited to experienced riders aiming for a fast time and to riders aiming to complete a 'century' or a 'half' for the first time.
Features of the ride include
- Three well stocked feed stations with the energy drinks and food.
- Refreshments as well as shower and changing facilities at the start
- Ample free off-road parking a short ride from the start.
- Mechanical support at the start
- Full electronic timing provided by HS Sports
- Sweeper van in case of emergencies
- Start in Marlow, close to the M4 and M40
The Red Kite Ride is hosted by the Marlow Riders cycling club, with all net proceeds going to local charities.
