This is the 17th consecutive year the SWRC have run this event and its popularity has increased each time it has taken place. There is a choice of two routes, both fully road marked. The Flyer 86km route meanders around the North Downs while the 153km Flyer Challenge crosses the North Downs on the way to Amberley in Sussex before returning along a different set of mainly country lanes.
Both rides are reasonably challenging and while some will enjoy the climbs like Coombe Bottom (tackled by a different route on the outward and return legs) more than others, everyone should enjoy the quiet country lanes of Surrey and Sussex.
The start and finish is from OXSHOTT VILLAGE HALL, HOLTWOOD ROAD, OXSHOTT, SURREY, KT22 0QJ.
Car Parking will at the station car park just around the corner - its huge and empty and free on Sundays.
Sign on from @ 8 am onwards , start 8:15 am onwards groups of 15 riders @ 2 min intervals.
I'm sorry but there will be NO, On the Day Entries, this year.
There will be a timing chip check at the start and finish , for those on the short route their chip will be checked at the route split which is at Hydestyle. The long route chip check will be at Amberley which is the "turn".
Refreshments will be available. Sandwiches, cakes and hot drinks. There will be a SAG wagon to pick up any riders as necessary.
Both routes will be fully marked with arrows on the tarmac, together with our traditional distinctive yellow sign boards. Emergency contact details will be on the reverse off your frame number and a map will be available at the start should you wish to take one. Cyclists are strongly reminded that they are responsible for their own and other cyclists' safety at all times. Please remember this is not a race, but riders completing for thier own satistaction regards time.
