Super event. From start to finish everything ran very smoothly, good HQ with plenty of food and parking (and lots of tanks!), well signposted, very friendly staff and a great atmosphere on the road. I got two punctures and was pleasantly surprised at just how many people offered assistance, as well as the Wiggle van which conveniently drove past. I'd definitely do this event again.

My first sportive, and really enjoyed it. Tough and challenging but not ridiculously so. Great roads enhanced with fantastic views. The only part of the route I didn't enjoy was the road out of Swanage; too congested with cars for my liking. Would have liked better catering at the end. But minor gripes. A rewarding experience and will look to do more this year.

Comfortable course, nice scenery, a bit busy with traffic in parts, but where was the food at the fimish? Maybe that's a northern thing!

My first sportive! Very well organised, good signage, poor food facilities at the end I thought. Will definitely be back for this event with some pals!

This was my first ever sportive. I thought it was fantastic. I have a few tiny issues which all in all didn't really affect me that much however I shall mention them anyway. There was one part of the route which was not clearly signed. A sharp right hand turn. The only reason I knew which way to go is that i saw i rider in the distance so decided to follow. Luckily it was a rider from the event! Also I did not see much support along the route. (Marshals, First Aiders, Mechanics etc) Is this the norm for there not to be much help along the way? As i said, this is my first event so i'm not too sure!. Finally, I saw a few photographers along the way but when I went to check the pages yesterday evening, NOT ONE PHOTO OF ME! Disapointed :o(

BUT OVERALL, A FANTASTIC EVENT AND CAN'T WAIT FOR MY NEXT ONE!!!!

What was there to fault?
Nothing.
Great ride on a sunny day, which was superbly organised.
Can not wait for the next one.

Fantastic course. Truly well organised event. This is my first year of sportives and I must comment that Wiggle are definitely in the premier league.

Fabulous ride on a beautiful day in a wonderful part of the country (my first visit). Very early wake-up but slick organisation ensure the smoothest of starts. Challenging route but not insanely so, it did feel like a long way to the 2nd feedstop considering the terrain, maybe the 1st could have done with being a little further in. I'd echo some of the other comments that the catering at the event base wasn't exactly cyclist-friendly and at the feed stations I really crave an anti-dote to the overdose from all the sweet stuff, e.g. proper sandwich instead of a flapjack that I could easily carry myself. All considered though it was a well-run event and memorable day.

Done a few events, all present their own challenges but this Jurassic Beast was a sublime experience. Event management ran like clockwork from start to finish. The course was excellent and although i am a 'local' I still found roads and areas I never knew excisted! Well done to all involved. Look forward to riding this again.

A very well organised event from start to finish with excellent signage through out and a very well thought out route taking in some fantastic scenery ( helps to take your mind off the long climbs! ) Great day out.

A fabulously well organised route with a new leg down to Swanage that was beautiful in the sunshine. The Wiggle mechanics came to our rescue for the second year on the trot and got us back on the road again in time to make it through the finish just before all the kit came down. Next year i hope to make it round in one piece but i'll definitely be back.

* note to self. It's a ride, not a race :) !

Comments still stand - but ratings corrected to allow for my general grumpiness.

This was an *excellent* ride. The Standard route was beautiful and well designed with some great technical hills. I'll definitely be putting the route on the GPS and heading down a few times over the summer to try and better my time.

My gripes are really minor:

1) Timing classifications seem a bit odd. There is only 20 minutes lee-way between a gold rating and a bronze one. This seems unfair on both the fastest riders and the slowest. Surely it would be better to have five categories, say top for those heroic figures that managed it around the standard route in less that 3.40 (how?!?); then less than 4.10; 4.30, 5.00, and then longer than 5.30. This would much better reflect the range of riders these rides attract and give us slower riders something to aim towards.

2) The staff from Bovington (I assume they were Tank Museum staff) were rude and unhelpful. There were very many fantastic staff there, all really keen to be involved but a few miserable people who seemed to resent answering questions really spoilt the start of the race.

3) Catering facilities at the end of the race - awful! The last thing I want after a ride is greasy chips and hot dog - a few hours after, definitely, but not straight afterwards. No chance of catering to the notoriously caffeine addicted cyclists's desire for proper coffee?!

Purbeck in the sun is as good as any ride in the Mediterranean. The hills were short but very challenging, the flats were rolling, the views were exceptional. A very well designed course. And thanks to anybody who pulled me along, there were some great riders out there.

as usual well organised and very friendly. The change of course to take in Swanage seafront and the longish drag up to Worth Matravers was a good decision and hope it is kept for next year. i shall be back for the fourth time next year!

Thoroughly enjoyed the ride and the route - being an amateur I did it without a stop watch or GPS system, just to encourage right at the end perhaps a distance marker (i.e. only 10 miles to go) - like to think that might have inspired me to up my pace and lose the 3 minutes that put me in the bronze medals!
