2016 - lovely setting, exceptional weather, a hard but rewarding 100 miles in the Wiltshire countryside, recommended for sure.

Really good time. Marshalls were outstanding, offering lots of encouragement and did a really good job on the junctions.

Relatively hilly though, so it might not suit a first-timer.

Certainly plan on doing it again next year

I agree with the previous post re surface conditions of the roads, made interesting riding at times. Secondly there normally is something different in the route each year that I have done but was the same as last year I think.
Anyway that said was worried after the brilliance of the last 4 years would be lost with Human Race as the promoter but this was truly misplaced as everything worked like clockwork with very little difference at all.
The only thing missing was from the goody bag as without Endura as sponsors there was no buff in it :-(
I love this ride and what was also good this year was to do the finishing straight twice, albeit the first time was a leisurely ride to the start.
This ride is always my favourite of the year. Thanks to all involved.

First of all this was a brilliantly organised event. Signage was perfect, marshalls were very good and food stops were perfect. At the food stops there was a choice of water or energy drinks, various zipvit products and the usual bananas. The stars of the show were the cheese and onion rolls though, much needed after the sweet energy products!
The ride itself was far harder than I expected. Over 4500ft of climbing over 62 miles meant it was up and down pretty much all the way. The first hill hits before you even leave Longleat and had people walking already. The king Alfreds tower hill climb was really tough with about 70% of people walking up it.
The roads were very quiet with the route taking in lots of country lanes. This did mean however that the road surface was pretty poor for large portions. Definitely worth getting some decent puncture proof tyres.
All in all the Lionheart sportive was a mix of pleasure and pain, with pain having the "lion" share thanks to the killer hills.

I really enjoyed the Lionheart, the route was prettty good all bar one section that was not much more than forrest track. I did the 100k route and the second food station was just before a massive climb. The food stations were polar opposites the first one was amazing brilliant fantastic however the second was not well thought out, the location was far from ideal and they only had dry bread rolls left, to be fair the ladies running it ran over to the local co-op and got some fillings. I will do this ride next year as its all ways an experiance in itself. Snow 2013 and heavy hail 2014!

Briiliant again as my 4th Lionheart. The twist this year was the anti clockwise route from previous years and for 100 milers the main climbing before the course split at circa 50 miles. As previous roads in bad way but you can't blame the event or that, nor or the hail either. Feed stops well placed with food to cycle/die for. Really friendly and helpful people and you really do get value for money for the entry fee. This ride is an bsolute joy. Just a hame I have to wait for another year to tame the Lionheart gain.
Thanks to everyone who make the event the highligt of my year.
