Chiltern Cycling Festival grows into two events, following success of first year.
After the incredible turnout last year, the organisers have arranged to host not one, but two days of cycling celebrations in 2015. With July 12th and August 31st as the confirmed dates the Chiltern hills look set to further establish themselves as one of the best riding areas in the south east next summer. Routes and events are scheduled in and around two magnificent country houses and the Chiltern Cycling team are keen to offer great days out for all types of cyclist to build on the excitement and buzz that has been generated.
"Following last years superb day for both riders and spectators we know that people want an annual cycling focal point", says organiser Robin Askey "this year we will have two stunning locations on different dates that will enable us to offer even more exciting events, routes and attractions, but all still linked up by the simple idea of sharing our passion for cycling against beautiful backdrops with friends and family"
The three routes for the sportives will again feature the Amersham Classic 30mile route along with the Amersham Brill Amersham 100 mile and 100km options taking in many of the tough climbs that featured in the recent Tour of Britain stage. Described by world tour rider Alex Dowsett on his way to taking the yellow jersey as "the toughest day he'd ever spent on a bike" so be warned! With all those energy sapping opportunities the organisers have been sure to lay on 3 fantastic feed zones and mechanical support across all routes together with an eclectic mix of stall holders, food and local produce at the finish on the lawns and gardens of Penn House.
As last year British Cycling Go ride will be offering children's events and with bike demos, the vintage Concors d'elegance parade and other retro inspired fun, it will be a Great British summers day out for all the family. With VIP hospitality available from Etape Suisse, the people behind some of the most inspired cycling events in Europe, alongside some other truly "Heroic" attractions and memories for all vintage cycling fans - the Chiltern Cycling Festival is set to be one of the most enjoyable cycling events of the year.
