From a cycling perspective The Whisky Trail Sportive traverses some of Scotland’s most beautiful and rugged terrain and offers a very special experience to cyclists looking for a challenge across inspirational and outstandingly beautiful scenery with a two- wheeled celebration of the Malt Whisky Trail
There will be an 80 miles circuit, a shorter 40 mile route and also a family ride of approx 10 miles. Entry to the 40 & 80 Mile route options is £35.00 and online entry is open at https://www.entrycentral.com/index.php?raceID=100311
Riders will experience comprehensive event support including electronic timing, marshals at main junctions, fully signed routes, motorcycle outriders, and medical support and food stations.
Based in the City & Royal Burgh of Elgin, the 2012 Whisky Trail Sportive, the first major cycling sportive to be held in Moray, will incorporate 3 different routes and will also help to generate fundraising for the North East Sensory Services, www.nesensoryservices.org/.
North East Sensory Services provide support to people with severe visual impairment and /or hearing impairment. The great work done by this dedicated team provides specialist advice and support including information and training to assist sensory impaired people. This organisation is reliant on monies generated through charitable donations.
