Very good well organised eevent. Only gripe was the 3 extra miles than advertised to the last feed station - must have been tired by then! The distance on the long route was also a little unclear and I saw 104, 108, 110 and 113.6 miles advertised (to be fair the latter was due to a proposed road closure) and cycled 112 in the end. One descent with a right turn onto a main road should have been identifeid as a hazard and some of the roads were a little gravelly and potholed but come to expect this in the uk and there were some lovely quiet lanes to compensate. Minor gripes though on a well planned and enjoyable route - well done the weather gods too for arranging sunshine all day.

i've done a few sportives, and as always kilo put on a good one, as i say myself and a few other riders lost the signs and ended coming back a different way missing out ironbridge which was a shame, but this is only the second time ive had problems with the signage the last being tour of the peak 2009 but managed to find my way back on to route that time, but i dont think this is kilos fault, you do get muppets pinching them, and ive now found a brilliant little app that lets you downlaod gpx files to it, just wish i'd thought to look for it before the ride, for those of you like me who find £300+ for a gps a bit of a stretch the app is called "trail light".
but all in all a great day.

Good event, feedstations were good and HQ was efficient. Have mentioned to KTG to adapt next years route if possible to miss out some of the severly pot-holed sections. However I would receommend as Rider Packs were received early with numbers etc so waiting at the start line was kept to a minimum. Good signage and all marshalls and helpers were helpful and efficient.

Course completed the 92 mile version. Very Well Organised, although some missing signs a critical turns, glad had re:plotted a .TCX GPS file of the route was asked more than once by other riders 'which way is it here?' Overall a good route only let down a bit by heavy traffic and many turns in the built up area for the 3 miles around the start and finish. Pot holed and gravelly road after feed station one but we were warned about this before the start. Very good spacing between feed stations, excellent HQ, Facilities and marshals.
Always good on the Kilo to Go events that you get you rider pack before the event so no delays or sign in. Nice little goody bag at the end, result slip with reliable timing. Would recommend. Oh and results and certificate published promptly.

A really well organised and friendly event, with a high level of attendance by competent roadies setting a good standard. Great to see a new part of the country (Cannock Chase) on such a beautiful sunny day. Well chosen roads (good tarmac mostly!) with an excellent start/finish venue and some brilliant fast sections, highlighted by good technology and support. Well done KilotoGo!

A superb day, glorious route and that climb out of Ironbridge was something else,It was a lot harder than Mowcop or maybe it was due to tired legs. The organisers did a good job with the route and back up,Will most likely do it again next year if its run.

This is an email I sent Simon Thomson....
Hi Simon,

Congratulations on a well run Motion in Mercia, I enjoyed the day and performed better than I expected as I was with a bit of a head cold.

I responded to your survey and below have as I did for the Wild Edric put together a few tweak suggestions in addition to your survey regards the long route.

I list below some thought points that led to my revised route.

1. Minimise time going out of Wolverhampton and minimise pot holes in large groups and traffic lights.

2. Right turns on very busy high speed main road (A5) going straight over at Four Crosses would minimize the time exposed to danger and is a better junction checked on (streetview)

3. Miss out going through main high streets in the towns, Newport and Bridgnorth.

4. Extend the distance to 100miles but with an easier climb out of the Ironbridge Gorge.

5. See more of the Ironbridge Gorge and Coalport and on to the lovely lanes through Ryton, Beckbury , Badger and on to Worfield , then the standout Village of Claverley.

6. Join the A 454 towards finish via Tinacre Hill as there was two dodgy junctions, one at Perton Rd/MountRd and especially a high speed stop which some very tired minds(end of ride don't want to stop) may have trouble with at junction with the Holloway and A454 near roundabout (busy on return).

Route with start as was.... http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1092985

Take Care

Ron.

This was my first sportive.I found it to be very well organised with easy to follow instructions. Very little queuing, even though everyone want to start as soon as the race was open! I thought it was really good :)
