An absolutely stunning course going through some beautiful little villages. Very well marshalled and perfect directions throughout. Well stocked feed areas, quite a distance between 1 and 2 especially if you miss 1 as it comes very early. A very decent challenge for the legs so early in the season especially the last 25km - hold something in reserve for the wall and his little brothers! My first SRS event and it won't be my last.

One of the better organised sportives that I've ridden. The route was a good challenge with a nice selection of hills (and some very enjoyable descents!). The event organisation, from online registration through to signage & timing were spot on.

I'd question the usefulness of a stop after 10 miles, but if people are using it, then I guess that's what it's there for. While the vast majority of the ride was on very quiet roads/lanes, there were a few sections on busier roads. And the roadworks coming back into Burgess Hill meant I just missed out on a silver time, but that gives me an incentive to try again next year!!

An enjoyable event!

First time for this event for my wife and I and we were thoroughly impressed with the organisation, signage (apart from one slight off route detour) and the overall feel for the event, also enjoyed the camaraderie with little/no bike snobbery.

I took part in the 72 mile Classic route - very tough and some decent hills to overcome including Pillow Mounds, Kidds Hill, Groombridge Hill and my favourite (only because I managed it without taking the walk of shame) Cobb Lane Hill, in fact hills right the way through the route even after Cobb Lane when you think you are safe they just keep coming. Not a great deal of traffic on the route at this time of year either which is always good. Event organisation was very good with friendly informative staff, however it is a pain that you have to remove your cycle shoes (and waterproof shoe covers) to sign on, and even more so to get your free food and drink at the end of the event, just a slight niggle. The feed stations around the course were amazing, I stopped off at two - both of which had hot sausage rolls, cakes, sweets, bananas, gels and a whole host of other energy filled snacks and drinks to keep you going. At the second stop I was even made a warming cup of coffee (I needed a caffeine kick!). Overall a great event and as the Ashdown Forest is on my doorstep it is very likely I will sign up again next year,. Keep up the good work!

A great day for my first sportive. I learned a lot - including how easy it is to get cramp. A bit too hilly though. Very well organised and I have booked my next sportive already.

Food was pretty poor compared to other sportives I've been on. I expected something more than biscuits and cakes at the main feed stop and a roll and crisps and water at the end. Also being vegetarian there was nothing savoury at all at the feed point. The first water stop was too soon. Apart from that lovely route and well organised.

What a lovely day out, I had to switch to the shorter route on course as my speed was not going to get me round the middle route anywhere near the cut off time.

Only one issue I had with the course, although it was VERY well sign posted with a "cyclist's slow" sign, was the ford running across the road at the bottom of a very fast decent (Pillows Mound?). I know a couple of people caught out.

Other than that, very enjoyable course. The Cob was the only place I had to push, but I was riding the recumbent.

I will be back next year.
