This is a thoroughly enjoyable shorter challenge, ideal for discovering the surrey hills- and winterfold is tough! pretty chilled out and friendly atmosphere, and relatively low number of participants makes this one much less stressful than some. defo recommend this!

Great route - challenging hills, mainly quiet roads and great scenery

Once again an excellent ride made better this year by the good weather if a little cool to start with. You tend to forget just how beautiful parts of Surrey are and this ride takes you through some of the best parts. The hills were challenging very steep at times and some roads had gravel which could have caused problems. Signage was an improvement on last year. Waiting at the start I got quite cold and by the bottom of Box Hill I was shivering but this all changed when I started to climb the first hill of the day. It is a ride I will be doing again.

Of all the "sportives" I have completed this season, none were more well supported by marshalls, all really enthusiatic about the event. The route was on quiet roads with enough climbing to keep it interesting but not too much to put off the less trained. It was mostly well signed bar the odd last minute directional arrow. Nice "goodies" before and after and a shiny medal too.
Improvements? I'd maybe separate the long route start time from the short route and let riders out in slightly larger groups to cut down on the queuing as it was a bit chilly waiting in line so long.
Specail thanks to mechanic Bruce who got my bike to the start line after I somehow dropped my chain off the inside of my rear cassette and jammed it in the spokes(doh!) Good, well run event. Ta.

Nice event, well organised, great scenery. Took long time to queue and get going at the start, which as was very cold was bit knee numbing prior to the ride. Good course, could add a longer one as was a little short, but even so good day out.

Must be the friendliest sportive I've done. Great route too. No flat bits at all, just up and down. Need to pay careful attention to the signs as there are quite a few turns and to the road surfaces as there is a lot of gravel. One sign went missing in Dorking near the start and many got a bit lost and I skidded around on gravel several times.
