Giovanni Rana Pastificio & Cucina, the flagship restaurant in the US of Italy's beloved pasta brand for over 50 years, is partnering with Campagnolo Gran Fondo New York, America's premier road cycling race open to both amateurs and professionals. 

"GFNY and Giovanni Rana Pastificio & Cucina will introduce a variety of initiatives to provide GFNY participants a great pre- and post-race culinary and sports nutrition experience," said Gran Fondo New York's President, Lidia Fluhme. 

"We are working closely with Giovanni Rana's Head of Research on creating easy, healthy and delicious recipes and practical advice for sports nutrition, especially for after long rides," Fluhme continued. 

At the Campagnolo GFNY Finish Village, all Campagnolo GFNY 2016 racers will enjoy a complete post-race meal featuring Giovanni Rana's famed pasta and sauces. To feed hungry cyclists, the Rana team will provide 5,000 meals on Sunday, May 15, 2016 for those who complete Campagnolo GFNY's challenging, hilly 100-mile route or GFNY Bear's formidable 50-mile route. 

In addition, Giovanni Rana Pastificio & Cucina Restaurant in New York City will play host to a series of Campagnolo GFNY social events, including a Spring Aperitivo. During race week, all Campagnolo GFNY riders will be invited to the restaurant and enjoy a special GFNY participant discount.

The sixth annual Campagnolo Gran Fondo New York will be the second GFNY Championship. The race features the world's most international peloton with riders from over 70 countries. Athletes take on a challenging 100-mile route from NYC to Bear Mountain and back to compete against each other, the clock and themselves in a personal endurance challenge.  

The 50-mile GFNY BEAR on the same day is a non-competitive ride from NYC to Bear Mountain.
