A fantastic event, some hills Chase Holne were killers and the Doccombe climb was fairly easy, the weather which was fantastic (for the beach but not cycling) this was a brilliant ride.

Great event, great route, great organization. Masses of goodies at the end and the party atmosphere were the icing on the cake. I can't fault anything - top work MDCC!

A brutal course, only down side was that is was easy to get turned the wrong way out of the first feed stop and end up doing the wrong course.

This was an example of how to run a large sportive superbly. Everything was brilliant. Parking, toilets, signage, marshals, foodstops, route, scenery - everything. Bl**dy hard work though! *grin*. Chapeaux to MDCC - awesome job.

Proof that it can be done - such a relief after the Dragon fiasco. My blog of my ride is here: http://www.thecyclingmayor.com/?p=1998 for more details.

This was the sportive that the Dragon Ride should strive to be. I am so glad I entered this event as I had been so disappointed with the Welsh offering earlier in the month. Just no comparison and I know where I will be returning next June and it will not involve crossing the river Severn.

Another great day. Shows other sportives how it should be done. I did not think last year could be topped but just about did. Timing system was just so easy and brilliant other sportives take note. This is an extremely tough 100k and the weather made it ajoy bar the headwind home. Big thanks to everyone at Mid Devon Cycling Club

Having riden the Dragon 2 weeks before I thought this event was SO much better. The numbers were right for the roads and the start arrangements (holding pens) worked very well. I will strongly recommend the ride to my club members and hope to be back for 2012
My only note to the organisers clear signage at the route split please.

What a fantastic day's cycling. Great route, perfect weather, food stops well stocked and varied and the friendliest and best organised marshalling. The best event of the year. Congratulations to everyone involved.

This Event is a credit to the organisers, I'd rate it as the best in the UK. The 106 mile route is a real tester of fitness and mental strength especially when the weather is extremely hot as it was this year. The scenery is fantastic, some tough punishing long steep climbs but also there's some awesome fast stretches as well, the last 10 mile fast river valley run in to the finish is an absolute dream come true.

I've done this event two years on the trot now and I'll be back for some more next year.

Totally brilliant in nearly all respects (mildly chaotic mix of cars/bikes at carpark being only minor gripe - but even that was addressed well with plenty of marshals).

Principal feed stop was superb, well stocked with a range of tasty grub, gels and SIS drinks.

Extra water stops added on the day at ~30 and ~80 showed responsiveness to the conditions (man, was it hot?!).

Efficiency of the set-up enabled me to achieve (just) a gold for the 100mile - did not have to hang around at the stops. If you're gunning for a time this is great - if you're not it was also plenty relaxed and good-natured along the way.

Oh, and it was pretty too!

Fantastic day out. To MDCC et al - salut!

A brilliant event, but more water stops please next year - ended up begging for water from supporters and parked cars at the roadside.
