If in doubt as to the location please contact us before the day of the event. Look out for event signs on the day. Registration opens at 7.15am; you can start riding anytime between 7.30 & 9.30am. Parking on site is all pay and display so please bring change for the machines.Facilities at the start/finish venue include: hard standing car parking; undercover event HQ/registration area; toilets/changing facilities; tea/coffee, juice, biscuits and flapjack/cake will be available free of charge to all riders at the finish
Routes
There are three routes 165km Long Route 4000m of ascent 101km Medium Route 2250m of ascent 63km Short Route 1353
Electronic Timing - SPORTident timing
SPORTident timing will be used and you will need to "punch/dib" at the start of the ride, at any control points on your chosen route plus at the finish in order to register that you have completed the fixed route in full.
On RouteYou will be provided with a basic colour copy route map plus the entire route will be signed/arrowed and there will be marshaled checkpoints en-route at each feed-station
Feed-stations
At every marshalled checkpoint will be a fully stocked feed-station incl. water, energy drink, bars, gel as well as biscuits, fruit and fruit squash. to keep you top up. These are not to be relied on and riders are advised to carry what they require from the beginning.
Pre event guide
Our comprehensive event guide will not just provide you with all the event information you need. But will also provide in depth detail on all the climbs of the Peak Epic.
Results
Each rider will receive an automatic result sheet on finishing and downloading their SPORTident dibber. Overall/provisional results will be displayed on the day and full results will be on wwww.darkwhitecycling.co.uk shortly after the event.
Equipment
A roadworthy bike, helmet (ANSI or BSI only - not climbing, caving or canoeing types) and a watch are compulsory for this event. Check the forecast and dress appropriate to the prevailing weather conditions - DON"T skimp on kit or clothing, it's not worth it!! Light/bright coloured clothing is very strongly recommended as is carrying a mobile phone in case of emergencies. You should also bring food/drink sufficient for the duration of the event plus a spare tube/tyre levers/multi-tool etc.
Awards
There will be overall results for each course with Platinum (long route only) Gold, Silver or Bronze time bands depending on the time you finish in with every official finisher receiving a certificate.
Accommodation
The Peak District has plenty of accommodation options from local hotels and Inns to B&B's and self-catering cottages.
